Robert McLeod Bob is Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Newland Communities and the true visionary behind the company's evolution and growth. Four Regional Presidents, the Senior Vice President of Union Park, and the Chief Marketing Officer report to Bob. Newland's assets encompass over 138,500 single-family, multi-family and urban residences, over 10,000 acres of parcels earmarked for future residential development and over 4,000 acres targeted for commercial and mixed-use development in 25 cities and 14 states.

Bob is the principal leader of Newland's new community start-ups, including the company's extensive visioning and planning process. He also focuses his energy in continuing to mentor Newland Communities' core teams in the achievement of the company vision throughout the creation of each community. He has a personal passion for sharing his years of experience with our young team members. Previously he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Genstar Land - U.S.A., Newland's predecessor company, where he had complete responsibility for all residential and commercial development activities in the United States, including 28,000 acres in 20 master-planned communities in five states. Bob is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
LaDonna K. Monsees

Vice Chairman of American Newland Communities
LaDonna is Vice Chairman and President of Newland Communities and Vice Chairman of American Newland Communities. She is responsible for the oversight of Home Office executive leadership, asset management of our communities and leadership of the company's direction toward sustainable development. As well, she manages American Newland Communities' investment in ONteriors.

LaDonna previously held dual titles of Vice Chairman and President, responsible for the company’s financial and administrative management and its numerous partnerships. From 1983-1987 LaDonna held similar responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer for various entities owned by Genstar Development, Inc., Newland’s predecessor company. She began her career as a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells. LaDonna graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Accounting from the University of West Florida.
Derek C. Thomas

Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of American Newland Communities
Derek C. Thomas Derek is Vice Chairman of Newland Communities, and Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of American Newland Communities. Derek provides leadership for the company's overall investment strategy, and leads the creation and coordination of all equity and debt relationships, focusing on the parent company's continued strategic growth through acquisitions and the formation of new businesses.

Derek previously held dual titles of vice chairman and chief operating officer, establishing and guiding the company's operating strategy. For 23 years, prior to joining Newland in 1995, he was a consultant and accountant specializing in the real estate industry. From 1985-1994, he served in the Chicago and San Diego offices of Kenneth Leventhal & Company, becoming partner-in-charge of real estate consulting in 1991. He provided advice on business strategies and financial transactions to real estate developers, owners, lenders and financial institutions.

A Certified Public Accountant, Derek has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Building Industry Association of San Diego, San Diego Cares and the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute, Lambda Alpha and the Pension Real Estate Association. He holds an MBA degree in real estate finance from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.
Vicki Mullins
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Vicki Mullins Vicki is responsible for the leadership and management of the Finance, Accounting, Planning, Tax, and Information Systems departments. She manages the company's capital through the securing of appropriate debt and the raising of equity from investors for specific projects or funds.

She assists the regional teams in managing their financial results and determining the best use of capital. Vicki is responsible for ensuring Newland has reliable systems in place to allow for timely and accurate reporting to partners and investors. In addition, she oversees annual audits, tax assessments and planning, and provides financial input to American Newland for any potential portfolio-level acquisitions and new business opportunities. Vicki has over 20 years of experience, primarily in real estate.

Prior to joining Newland, she was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Prometheus Real Estate Group, Vice President of Finance and Accounting for The Irvine Company, and Audit Manager for Ernst & Young. Vicki is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated with honors from the University of Illinois.
Teri Slavik-Tsuyuki
Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer
Teru Slavik-Tsuyuki

Teri is responsible for leading the development of marketing best practices across Newland's diverse business operations. At the Home Office, she leads a creative services team of marketing, design, public relations and communications professionals who support the regional marketing teams, and develop Newland's internal and external communications strategies. Teri plays a key role on Newland's Community Start-up Team, overseeing Newland's brand vision in regional contexts.

Prior to joining Newland, Teri ran her own advertising and marketing agency for 10 years, with primary clients including Intrawest Corporation, specializing in the resort development, real estate and education sectors. She has judged advertising award competitions, is a published poet, and her work has been recognized in Applied Arts Magazine. Teri has a year of journalism training from the School of Journalism at Carleton University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Double Major) in Communications and Sociology from Simon Fraser University.
Douglas Hageman
Senior Vice President and General Counsel
Doug Hagement Doug is responsible for the oversight of all legal matters for Newland Communities company wide. He oversees corporate matters and provides support and direction for the Regional General Counsels, as well as directly advising various Newland regional offices on acquisitions, development and other related real estate matters. Doug manages the Legal Services team in the Regional and Home Offices; providing legal advice, services and support. Prior to joining Newland in 2004, he was the Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for TrizecHahn Development Corporation, one of the largest regional shopping center developers/owners in the United States. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and is a licensed California Broker.
Linda Prosi,
Senior Vice President, Acquisition Services
Linda Prosi Linda provides leadership and oversight in acquisitions-related activities company wide, responsible for best practices from contract execution and due diligence, through close of escrow.

She interfaces closely with regional and Home Office teams, ensuring the availability of funds necessary to maintain all active purchase contracts. Linda ensures prompt and accurate reporting pertaining to the company's acquisitions pipeline to Newland's Investment Committee and its equity partners, and is responsible for securing all requisite investment approvals.

Prior to joining Newland in 1998, she was the controller for an interior design firm which specialized in model merchandising. She first became involved with the real estate industry on the finance side, having spent over fifteen years managing loan documentation and administrative operations for several national banks. Linda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences, graduating with honors from San Diego State University.
Tim Durie
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
Tim Drurie Tim provides leadership to the Human Resources Department for Newland Communities. In this role he advises company leadership on effective organizational structure and design, and develops and implements strategies to improve organizational and individual performance.

Tim designs and implements team member compensation and welfare plans and advises management in policy and program matters to preserve and improve team member relations. In addition, he provides leadership to the development and delivery of training and education programs in the company. Throughout his career he has held numerous positions in the areas of labor relations, employee relations, executive search, and as a human resources generalist.

Prior to joining Newland, Tim was the Director of Human Resources for Westbrook's golf business, then for Terrabrook, the land development side of the company. Tim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Oklahoma, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
Robert Bernstein
Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Robert Bernstein Rob is responsible for aligning Newland's technology strategy with the business strategy through process and systems improvements. He works closely with the regional teams and departments to design processes and systems that minimize business challenges, support decision making and facilitate our internal and external reporting requirements.

In addition, he is responsible for our technology strategy and standards that provide the tools necessary to conduct business and mitigate risk. Prior to joining Newland, he was a Senior Manager for Deloitte, leading the firm's west coast real estate systems consulting practice and specializing in strategic systems planning, process redesign, and system implementations.

Previous to that, he was a controller for a residential real estate brokerage firm in Los Angeles. Rob holds an MBA degree from the University of Rochester and is a Certified Public Accountant.
